This small surah answers a big question: who is ALLAH? In just four ayat, it tells us that ALLAH is One, and there is nobody like HIM.

یہ چھوٹی سی سورہ ایک بڑے سوال کا جواب دیتی ہے: اللہ کون ہے؟ صرف چار آیتوں میں یہ بتاتی ہے کہ اللہ ایک ہے، اور اُس جیسا کوئی نہیں۔

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

(شروع کرتا ہوں) اللہ کے نام سے جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم والا ہے۔

Let's begin with ALLAH's name. HE loves us more than anyone, and HE is the kindest of all. No one can ever be as loving as ALLAH.

آؤ اللہ کا نام لے کر شروع کریں۔ اللہ ہم سے سب سے زیادہ پیار کرتا ہے اور سب سے زیادہ مہربان ہے۔ اُس جتنا پیار کرنے والا کوئی ہو ہی نہیں سکتا۔

Ayah 1–4

قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ

Say, ‘He is Allah, the One.

(اے رسول(ص)) آپ(ص) کہہ دیجئے! کہ وہ (اللہ) ایک ہے۔

Easy ExplanationO Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ و آلہ وسلم, tell everyone: ALLAH is only One, and there is no one else like HIM.

آسان مفہوماے نبی صلی اللہ علیہ و آلہ وسلم، سب کو بتا دیں: اللہ صرف ایک ہے، اور اُس جیسا کوئی اور نہیں ہے۔

اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ

Allah is the All-embracing.

اللہ (ساری کائنات سے) بےنیاز ہے۔

Easy ExplanationALLAH does not need anyone or anything, but everyone and everything needs HIM. Whenever we are in trouble, we turn only to HIM.

آسان مفہوماللہ کو کسی کی یا کسی چیز کی ضرورت نہیں، لیکن ہر کسی کو اور ہر چیز کو اُسی کی ضرورت ہے۔ جب بھی ہم مشکل میں ہوتے ہیں، ہم صرف اُسی کی طرف رجوع کرتے ہیں۔

لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ

He neither begat, nor was begotten,

نہ اس کی کوئی اولاد ہے اور نہ وہ کسی کی اولاد ہے۔

Easy ExplanationALLAH is no one's father and no one's son. HE has no children, and HE was never born.

آسان مفہوماللہ نہ کسی کا باپ ہے اور نہ کسی کا بیٹا۔ نہ اُس کی کوئی اولاد ہے، اور نہ وہ کبھی پیدا ہوا۔

وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ

nor has He any equal.’

اور اس کا کوئی ہمسر نہیں ہے۔

Easy ExplanationAnywhere in the whole universe, there is nobody who is equal to ALLAH. Nothing can ever be like HIM.
