A long time ago, a proud king came with a huge army - and even giant elephants - to knock down the Kaaba, ALLAH's special house in Makkah. This little surah tells the amazing true story of how ALLAH saved HIS house. It shows us that no one is ever stronger than ALLAH.

بہت پرانے زمانے کی بات ہے، ایک مغرور بادشاہ ایک بہت بڑی فوج اور بڑے بڑے ہاتھی لے کر آیا تاکہ خانہ کعبہ کو، جو مکہ میں اللہ کا خاص گھر ہے، گرا دے۔ یہ چھوٹی سی سورہ ہمیں یہ حیرت انگیز سچا واقعہ سناتی ہے کہ اللہ نے اپنے گھر کو کیسے بچایا۔ یہ ہمیں بتاتی ہے کہ اللہ سے زیادہ طاقتور کبھی کوئی نہیں۔

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

(شروع کرتا ہوں) اللہ کے نام سے جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم والا ہے۔

Let's begin with ALLAH's name. HE loves us more than anyone, and HE is the kindest of all. No one can ever be as loving as ALLAH.

آؤ اللہ کا نام لے کر شروع کریں۔ اللہ ہم سے سب سے زیادہ پیار کرتا ہے اور سب سے زیادہ مہربان ہے۔ اُس جتنا پیار کرنے والا کوئی ہو ہی نہیں سکتا۔

Ayah 1–2

أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصْحَابِ الْفِيلِ

Have you not regarded how your Lord dealt with the army of the elephants?

کیا آپ نے نہیں دیکھا کہ آپ کے پروردگار نے ہاتھی والوں کے ساتھ کیا (سلوک) کیا؟

Easy ExplanationHave you heard the story of the people who came with elephants? A proud king wanted to knock down the Kaaba, ALLAH's holy house in Makkah. He brought a giant army with huge elephants, and he was sure he would win. But do you know what your Lord did with them, and how HE dealt with them all?

آسان مفہومکیا تم نے ہاتھیوں والے لوگوں کی کہانی سنی ہے؟ ایک مغرور بادشاہ خانہ کعبہ کو، جو مکہ میں اللہ کا پاک گھر ہے، گرانا چاہتا تھا۔ وہ بڑے بڑے ہاتھیوں والی ایک بہت بڑی فوج لے کر آیا اور اُسے یقین تھا کہ وہ جیت جائے گا۔ لیکن کیا تم جانتے ہو کہ اللہ نے اُن کے ساتھ کیا کیا اور اُن سے کیسے نمٹا؟

أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِي تَضْلِيلٍ

Did He not make their stratagems go awry,

کیا اس نے ان کی تدبیر و ترکیب کو بےکار نہیں کر دیا؟

Easy ExplanationBut ALLAH turned their big, evil plan into a big failure - because nothing and no one can ever beat ALLAH.

آسان مفہوملیکن اللہ نے اُن کے بڑے ناپاک منصوبے کو ناکام بنا دیا - کیونکہ اللہ کو کوئی چیز اور کوئی شخص کبھی ہرا نہیں سکتا۔

Ayah 3–5

وَأَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا أَبَابِيلَ

and send against them flocks of birds

ان پر (ہر سمت سے) ابابیل نامی پرندوں کے جھنڈ کے جھنڈ بھیج دیئے۔

Easy ExplanationALLAH sent so many little birds - called Ababeel - to save HIS house.

آسان مفہوماپنے گھر کو بچانے کے لیے اللہ نے بہت ہی زیادہ ابابیل نامی ننھے ننھے پرندے بھیج دیے۔

تَرْمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٍ مِّن سِجِّيلٍ

pelting them with stones of shale,

جو ان پر سنگِ گل (پکی ہوئی مٹی کے پتھر) مارتے تھے۔

آسان مفہومہر ننھا پرندہ چھوٹے چھوٹے مٹی کے پتھر لے کر آیا اور اُس بہت بڑی فوج پر گرانے لگا۔

فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍ مَّأْكُولٍ

thus making them like chewed-up straw?

آخرکار اللہ نے انہیں (مویشیوں کے) کھائے ہوئے بھو سے کی طرح کر دیا۔
