103. Al-Asr — The Passing Time

In this tiny surah of only three ayat, ALLAH swears an oath by time itself, to teach us something huge: our time in this world is precious and it keeps running out, so we must use it to believe and to do good.
صرف تین آیتوں کی اِس چھوٹی سی سورہ میں، اللہ وقت ہی کی قسم کھاتا ہے، تاکہ ہمیں ایک بہت بڑی بات سکھائے: اِس دنیا میں ہمارا وقت بہت قیمتی ہے اور یہ ختم ہوتا جا رہا ہے، اِس لیے ہمیں اِسے ایمان لانے اور نیکی کرنے میں لگانا چاہیے۔
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
(شروع کرتا ہوں) اللہ کے نام سے جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم والا ہے۔
Let's begin with ALLAH's name. HE loves us more than anyone, and HE is the kindest of all. No one can ever be as loving as ALLAH.
آؤ اللہ کا نام لے کر شروع کریں۔ اللہ ہم سے سب سے زیادہ پیار کرتا ہے اور سب سے زیادہ مہربان ہے۔ اُس جتنا پیار کرنے والا کوئی ہو ہی نہیں سکتا۔

وَالْعَصْرِ
By Time!
قَسم ہے زمانے کی۔
Easy ExplanationALLAH swears by the passing time - by the days and hours that go by so fast and never, ever come back.
آسان مفہوماللہ گزرتے ہوئے وقت کی قسم کھاتا ہے - اُن دنوں اور گھنٹوں کی جو اتنی تیزی سے گزر جاتے ہیں اور پھر کبھی واپس نہیں آتے۔

إِنَّ الْإِنسَانَ لَفِي خُسْرٍ
Man is indeed in loss,
یقیناً (ہر) انسان گھاٹے میں ہے۔
Easy ExplanationEvery single person is losing something very precious - their time - because each moment that passes is gone for ever.
آسان مفہومہر ایک انسان ایک بہت قیمتی چیز کھو رہا ہے - اپنا وقت - کیونکہ جو لمحہ گزر جاتا ہے وہ ہمیشہ کے لیے چلا جاتا ہے۔

إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ
except those who have faith and do righteous deeds, and enjoin one another to [follow] the truth, and enjoin one another to patience.
سوائے ان لوگوں کے جو ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کئے اور ایک دوسرے کو حق کی وصیت کی اورصبر کی نصیحت کی۔
Easy ExplanationBut some lucky people are not losers at all: those who believe in ALLAH, do good and kind things, always tell the truth, and gently remind each other to be patient and never give up doing good.
آسان مفہوملیکن کچھ خوش نصیب لوگ بالکل گھاٹے میں نہیں: وہ جو اللہ پر ایمان رکھتے ہیں، اچھے اور مہربان کام کرتے ہیں، ہمیشہ سچ بولتے ہیں، اور ایک دوسرے کو پیار سے یاد دلاتے ہیں کہ صبر کریں اور نیکی کرنا کبھی نہ چھوڑیں۔
