The story of this duaاِس دعا کی کہانی

Prophet Yunus (peace be upon him) left his town while he was upset with his people. On a boat, he was thrown into the sea, and a huge fish swallowed him whole. Deep inside the dark belly of the fish — where no person on earth could ever hear him — he called out to ALLAH alone. And ALLAH heard him and saved him. This beautiful dua is known as Ayat-e-Kareema.

حضرت یونس علیہ السلام اپنی قوم سے ناراض ہو کر اپنا شہر چھوڑ گئے۔ کشتی میں سے اُنہیں سمندر میں پھینک دیا گیا، اور ایک بہت بڑی مچھلی نے اُنہیں پورا نگل لیا۔ مچھلی کے اندھیرے پیٹ میں گہرائی میں — جہاں زمین پر کوئی انسان اُنہیں سن ہی نہیں سکتا تھا — اُنہوں نے صرف اللہ کو پکارا۔ اور اللہ نے اُن کی پکار سنی اور اُنہیں بچا لیا۔ یہ پیاری دعا آیتِ کریمہ کہلاتی ہے۔

Say this dua when you have made a mistake, or when you feel stuck in a hard time and want ALLAH to forgive you and rescue you.

یہ دعا اُس وقت پڑھو جب تم سے کوئی غلطی ہو جائے، یا تم کسی مشکل میں پھنسے ہوئے محسوس کرو اور چاہو کہ اللہ تمہیں معاف کرے اور بچا لے۔

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

(شروع کرتا ہوں) اللہ کے نام سے جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم والا ہے۔

Let's begin with ALLAH's name. HE loves us more than anyone, and HE is the kindest of all. No one can ever be as loving as ALLAH.

آؤ اللہ کا نام لے کر شروع کریں۔ اللہ ہم سے سب سے زیادہ پیار کرتا ہے اور سب سے زیادہ مہربان ہے۔ اُس جتنا پیار کرنے والا کوئی ہو ہی نہیں سکتا۔

وَذَا النُّونِ إِذ ذَّهَبَ مُغَاضِبًا فَظَنَّ أَن لَّن نَّقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ فَنَادَىٰ فِي الظُّلُمَاتِ أَن لَّا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ

La ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu minaz-zalimin

And [remember] the Man of the Fish, when he left in a rage, thinking that We would not put him to hardship. Then he cried out in the darkness, ‘There is no god except You! You are immaculate! I have indeed been among the wrongdoers!’

اور ذوالنون (مچھلی والے) کا (ذکر کیجئے) جب وہ خشمناک ہوکر چلے گئے اور وہ سمجھے کہ ہم ان پر تنگی نہیں کریں گے۔ پھر انہوں نے اندھیروں میں سے پکارا۔ تیرے سوا کوئی الہ نہیں ہے۔ پاک ہے تیری ذات بےشک میں زیاں کاروں میں سے ہوں۔

Easy ExplanationThis ayah is about Prophet Yunus (peace be upon him). He left his people while he was upset, and ended up in the sea, swallowed by a huge fish.
